Matthias Richard Mattes

Tec 5 Matthias Richard Mattes served as the driver of a Tank Destroyer in the 7th Armored Division. His vehicle bore the tactical marking 7A-814TD-C23 and was nicknamed “Corsair.” An inscription on its gun read: “Charlotte loves Pappy,”.
